Get Ready for the Season Premier of ABC's Cavemen

8.28.07

The former Geico Cavemen have stepped up into their fulltime roll of prime time television. The new series, armed with new actors (unfortunately) will premier THIS TUESDAY at 8:00pm on ABC. Don't forget to watch! I'm sure the first episode will be one of the best, because that seems to be how all sitcoms go. The real test will be if they can keep 'Cavemen' funny and entertaining for multiple episodes.

From the clips I've seen online (YouTube.com and ABC's Official Website) I think it is going to be hilarious. Ah...but only time can tell now as our hearts start to beat faster, the anticipation building...will the show live up to the hype? the Geico commercials?

When someone asks why you think the commercials and now the new sitcom show are funny, just say 'He doesn't say anything, cause he's a doll.' They won't get it, but you'll be cracking up inside.

WATCH IT ON ABC TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2007. 8:00 p.m.

ABC online now has a special section for the upcoming show 'Cavemen'. Of course it is based on the popular Geico Cavemen commercials and will be showing in 30 minute time slots in the Fall. Although no official starting date appears to be posted, ABC has announced on the fall schedule that the show will appear at 8 p.m. eastern time on Tuesday evenings. Geico Cavemen Series Confirmed? or Bad Reporting?

4.30.07

This article seems to claim that a contract deal has already been signed for a two year running of the Geico Cavemen show with an optional third year. This is the only source of this news that I have found and I am not familiar enough with the inner workings of American television to understand whether this is just poor wording or if every ill-fated pilot undergoes this same contract signing before pilot creation. The Geico cavemen already have quite a following however, so maybe even if the pilot episode is terrible - the show will go on...?

Stars of the Pilot and possibly the show are not the Original Cavemen

4.30.07

"John Lehr, Jeff Phillips and Ben Weber, who under layers of Cro-Magnon makeup have inspired a cult following, have been kicked out of the cave as the concept goes Hollywood." It is likely that Nick Kroll, Bill English and Kaitlin Doubleday will play the cavemen in the pilot episode.
